Copyright Policy

How to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and what to do if your content was removed. Effective 4 October 2026.

Our approach

Uncüth hosts content that Members and Partners create. Post only content you own or have permission to use. We respond to clear notices of copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). This policy is part of the Terms of Service.

Send a notice

If you believe content on Uncüth infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to enforce, send a written notice to our Copyright Agent. The notice must include:

  • a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act for them;
  • the copyrighted work you believe is infringed or, if one notice covers several works, a representative list of them;
  • the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as its link;
  • your name, postal address, phone number, and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  • a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

A notice that leaves out these details may not be valid, and we may ask you to complete it. Before you send a notice, consider whether the use may be allowed, for example as fair use.

Designated agent

Copyright Agent, IG9Labs LLC, California, United States. Email: legal@ig9labs.com.

This address is for copyright notices and counter-notices only. For anything else, use Contact us.

What we do when we receive a notice

When we receive a valid notice, we promptly remove or disable access to the material. We tell the person who posted it that we have done so. We may send them a copy of the notice, including your name and contact details, so they can respond. A notice may also count toward the repeat-infringer policy below.

Send a counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that happened because of a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the Copyright Agent. The counter-notice must include:

  • your physical or electronic signature;
  • the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before removal;
  • a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification;
  • your name, postal address, and phone number;
  • a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which IG9Labs LLC may be found; and
  • a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice, or their agent.

What we do when we receive a counter-notice

We send a copy of a valid counter-notice, including your contact details, to the person who sent the original notice. We tell them we will restore the material in 10 business days. We then restore it no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless our Copyright Agent first hears from that person that they have filed a court action seeking an order to restrain you from infringing activity related to the material on Uncüth.

Restoring material under this process does not limit action we may take under the Terms for other reasons.

Repeat infringers

We end, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. We count valid notices against an account unless they are withdrawn or successfully countered. A person whose account was ended for repeat infringement may not open a new account.

False notices and counter-notices

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. If you are not sure, consider getting legal advice before you send a notice or counter-notice.
